Episcopal diocese of Olympia , also known as the Episcopal Church in Western Washington, is a diocese of the Episcopal Church in Washington state to the west of the Cascade Mountains. This is one of 17 regional dioceses and missions that make up Province 8. The diocese began as a missionary district in 1853 and was officially established in 1910. It consists of 25,490 members in 92 hearings.
The name of the diocese refers to the territory of "Olympia" and is not associated with the capital of the state of Olympia. The city in sight is Seattle, with St. Mark's, Seattle, the cathedral's church in the diocese. The diocese is led by Reverend Right Greg Rickel, Bishop of Olympia.

Selected eighth bishop
On May 12, 2007, Reverend Gregory Rickel, 43, rector of St. Episcopal Church James, Austin, Texas, was chosen as the 8th bishop of Olympia. He was elected at the third vote with four others at the ballot, including Nedi Rivera, then the diocese's suffragan bishop. Rickel has been confirmed by the majority of bishops with jurisdiction (mostly diocesan bishops) and standing committees, his consecration took place on 15 September 2007 at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue.

The diocese has a summer camp located in Gold Bar, WA next to Wallace Falls State Park. Director Bill Tubbs for the past 20 years has overseen the seasons of the Conference and the Dry Season.
