Careers
Prior to entering legal practice, Lindner was a member of the startup team and software development manager for the legendary computer game company Legend Entertainment, and worked as a software designer, programmer, implementer, composer and/or computer game engineer manufactured by companies such as Spellcasting 201: The Sorcerers Appliance , Frederik Pohl Gateway, Companions of Xanth, Star Control 3, and Callahan's Crosstime Saloon , among other software titles. Despite the success of producing games, Lindner changed careers and launched his own law firm at Fairfax in 2001, focusing primarily on criminal litigation and traffic.
As a criminal defense lawyer, he handles difficult cases like murder trials and representations of the wrong people held in custody. He served as a substitute judge from 2010 to 2015 and led to various causes in the District and Commercial Courts of Domestic and Domestic Affairs throughout Northern Virginia. He helps revive, and from 2012 to 2015, is the Joint Chief of Fairfax Bar Criminal Law Practice, which serves for the first year in collaboration with David Bernhard.
As a Judge, he has pioneered and promoted the implementation of the Veterans Treatment Docket program, and led its first graduates. The program takes a new hybrid approach, integrating the settlement of criminal cases for veterans who are criminally involved with mental health care and substance abuse and veteran mentorship. The program was not without controversy, initially struggling to gain legislative support in the Virginia General Assembly. However, the Virginia Supreme Court enacted the rules governing the existence of such special dockets. Lindner's achievements both in private practice and as a judge, and perseverance in maintaining the Veterans Care Pier, resulted in him being named "Leader in Law" by Virginia Lawyers Weekly in 2016.
