Ted M. Warshafsky (December 6, 1926 - October 14, 2012) was a personal injury lawyer and activist famous for establishing the successful Warhafsky Law Firm in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and nominated Julian Bond as the first African. The main candidate the American party for the Vice President of the United States.

Kehidupan awal

The son of two immigrants, Ted Warshafsky was born in St. Petersburg. Louis, Missouri to Ida and Israel Warshafsky. His parents divorced when he was 4 years old. When Warshafsky was 18, he joined the Marines and then studied at the University of Wisconsin Law School at GI Bill. Warshafsky then lived on the east side over Milwaukee in the Murray Hill neighborhood after college. He then built a reputation for winning millions of dollars in lawsuits, mostly against major drug companies. During his professional career, he spends his time in local and national politics.

Politics

  • 1967 - Warshafsky encourages his children to actively engage in the separation protests at Milwaukee schools and asks them to join him in a parade with Pastor James Groppi to support an open housing arrangement.
  • 1968 - Serving as field finance director on presidential campaign team Eugene McCarthy, Warshafsky will also be deputy chairman of the McCarthy delegation and proceed to nominate Julian Bond for Vice President at the Democratic National Convention that same year.
  • 1989 - Warshafsky filed a personal suit against ExxonMobil after the Valdez oil spill on behalf of Alaskan fish and wildlife.
  • 2008 - During President John Edwards's campaign, Warshafsky will contribute to support his village to end poverty, provide universal health care, end the war in Iraq, and fight global warming.

Warshafsky's Law Firm

After leaving law school, Ted M. Warshafsky struggled to find a foothold in the legal world until he founded the Warshafsky Law Firm. Based in Wisconsin, the Warshafsky Law Firm has evolved into one of the largest law firms in the Milwaukee area. In competition with companies like Foley and Lardner LLP and Michael Best & amp; Friedrich LLP, Warshafsky Law Firm has a history specializing in personal injury and medical malpractice cases.

Book Series

While developing his professional career with the Warshafsky Law Firm, Ted M. Warshafsky wrote a series of books with his colleagues called The Trial Handbook for Wisconsin Lawyers. This collection contains several volumes of information related to Wisconsin's civil and criminal law matters. Printed by Lawyers Cooperative Publishing, a series of guides provide instructions, information, and advice to readers for legal and trial cases, including how lawyers should conduct themselves during the trial, how to deal with indirect evidence, and actions to take once a final assessment has been made by court.

Philanthropy

The Warshafsky Law Firm reflects the advocacy and passion that Ted M. Warshafsky always has for helping the community. The Warshafsky Law Firm forms a charitable foundation, known as Venetian Art, to distribute scholarships to young people in Milwaukee who need and deserve. Many groups are supported through donations made by Law Firm Warshafsky, including Holton Street YMCA, Pearls for Girls, and the Center for Southern Poverty Law.

Acknowledgments

In 2008, Ted M. Warshafsky was included in Super Wisconsin Lawyer and received the Wisconsin Lifelong Leaders Award Award in Law from the Wisconsin Law Journal. Then in 2009, Warshafsky was also selected as one of the top 100 lawyers in Wisconsin by the State Bar of Wisconsin and recognized by the American Association of Justice as one of the top 100 attorney trials in the United States.

During his lifetime, Warshafsky served as a member and diplomat for a number of professional associations, including the American Trial Lawyers Council, the American Academy of Trail, the New Democracy Coalition and the International Society of Lawyers. Ted M. Warshafsky also gave time as national secretary to the American Trial Lawyers Association and as President of the Wisconsin Trial Lawyers Academy and Trial Lawyers Conduct General Justice.

Disease and Death

After suffering a stroke in November 2011, Warshafsky died on October 14, 2012, at the age of 85, at his home in Jefferson County.
