Pat Maloney Sr. (August 9, 1924 - September 11, 2005), also known as PM , is an American court lawyer. He represents various clients, including the Congregation of the Incarnate Sisters of the Incarnate Word; Duval County rancher and Clinton Manges oil tycoon; and the San Antonio lady, Theresa Brown, once described by Maloney as an "intellectual giant".
During law school, Maloney thought he would later join Lyndon B. Johnson's staff as a speechwriter. However, Maloney instead joined the attorney, joining the district attorney of Bexar County. He spent three years there, becoming the chief trial lawyer and first DA assistant. In 1953, after losing the Bexar County district attorney election, Maloney entered a private practice, setting up his own law firm, Pat Maloney Law Office, PC.
Maloney's first million-dollar verdict came against Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1976 and 1977. One of Maloney's most prominent cases emerged from the 1975 butane tanker truck disaster near the border town of Eagle Pass, Texas; 16 people were killed, and many more were injured, after the truck turned, stranded, and exploded; setting fire garden home car.
