Media and display

Cernovich earlier - in early 2006 - published an article that mocks Trump about Crime & amp; Federalism. The piece refers to the billionaire as a "media whore"? who? Throw his image into the world on demand and use it constantly to fit the ever changing ranking and marketing scheme,? and is advised to "never trust a man who combs his hair to cover his glittering dome, and then flaunts a wife young enough to be his daughter."

Cernovich became influential in social media, originally part of the manosphere movement, and has recently helped shape right-wing narrations in the United States. He falsely claimed during the 2016 presidential election that Hillary Clinton had a "seizure disorder" and Parkinson's disease. In September its # HillarysHealth hashtag has received 240,000 page views and has become a national trending topic on Twitter. During the month of September, Cernovich's tweet was seen over 100 million times.

Cernovich often referred to his opponents as "cucks", a variant of the alt-right cuckservative slang, a derogatory term for conservatives who supposedly betrayed conservative social values. Related to this, he has written, "To defeat a person, you lower his social status. Logic is useless." Cernovich admits sometimes using trolling tactics, which he says he uses to build his brand rather than for his own entertainment.

Cernovich opposes the two-party system and his support for Trump is not based on public policy. "What is Trump's policy? I do not really care". In another post on his website he states, "If Trump offends you, it's because you live in a chaotic world where nobody talks to their minds".

Cernovich helped popularize the fake Pizzagate conspiracy theory through his blog post and believes that child sex rings are rampant in Washington, DC He has accused his opponents of being pedophiles on various occasions, and in a YouTube video declaring that most people are employed by the news media and "every actor A -list "in Hollywood is also pedophile.

In October 2016 Cernovich said:

"The left people like to talk about power structures, right? Well, the media still thinks they speak the truth to power. What they do not realize is that someone like me is considered a new Fourth Estate Maybe they should check the structural privileges." The "paternalistic" media, he says, gives way to a more democratic one. "It makes journalists crazy, because they used to be in control, they can not control people anymore, everyone has a voice now."

After the August 2006 appearances in Fox News's Red Eye, the show producers felt compelled afterwards to say that they had made a mistake in ordering them later to learn the history of Cernovich's online dispute.

Cernovich accused the Democrats of trying to kill him. In 2016, Cernovich denounced Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for speaking at a mosque separated by sex. In August 2012 Cernovich wrote that the rape date "does not exist". In October 2016 he wrote, "Lying about falling in love with someone rather than rape, playing is not rape.Remembering is not rape.Thinking,'I may have been raped, 'you are not raped."

Despite describing itself as a political right, it supports single-payer health care and "some basic universal income form".

In April 2017 Cernovich promoted the conspiracy theory that the Khan Shaykhun chemical strike in Syria was a hoax financed by an American investor. Cernovich said he joined the right and right after realizing that "tolerance only goes one way and diversity is the code for white genocide" (see the white genocide conspiracy theory).

In August 2017, the Anti-Pollution League accused Cernovich of commissioning and publishing a very anti-Semitic cartoon. by Ben Garrison as part of a campaign against national security adviser Donald Trump.

In November 2017, Cernovich spread a misinformation linking the Sutherland Springs church shoot to Antifa. In mid-November 2017, Cernovich offered $ 10,000 for information on congressional sexual abuse settlements. The following week, he sent a document about the case that was settled by John Conyers to BuzzFeed, who checked them and reported it. Cernovich encourages all victims of sexual violence by congressmen to speak and offer to cover their legal costs.

In December 2017, Cernovich became the host? Ask Me Anything? in Reddit. The AMA , considered a failure by some media, dominated the user who taunted him and asked questions about the rape allegations against him, his suggestion for masturbation in front of women who do not want to engage in sexual acts. , and a suspected sexual encounter with a male-to-female transgender in Thailand (which Cernovich rejected). A few days later, he announced his intention to retire from social media, but reversed the decision within hours.

After the 2018 missile strike against Syria - criticized by Cernovich and dividing the political base of Trump - he announced that he would turn to "philosophy". and more esoteric content. Cernovich claims that he has felt the cosmos? ? Shift energy? which are only people who have high consciousness? can experience. He also describes the use of drugs that change the mind and refer to reality as a "simulation"? several times.

Conflict with Sam Seder

On November 28, 2017, Cernovich published a post on the Medium that reappeared from a deleted 2009 tweet made by progressive radio host and MSNBC political commentator Sam Seder, where he joked about child rape convict and fugitive film director Roman Polanski. The tweet reads, "Do not care about Polanski, but I hope if my daughter is raped, it's a really talented parent w/mise en scÃÆ'¨ne." Cernovich insisted Tweet proved Seder secretly supported pedophile Polanski. He then approached several reporters and news outlets, including MSNBC, to break the story.

Despite explaining tweet to MSNBC Senior VP of Communications Errol Cockfield Jr. via email, on December 4, 2017, TheWrap announces that MSNBC has decided to terminate its relationship with Seder by not renewing its contract (due to expire in February 2018) due to a controversial tweet. Seder defended the tweet by pointing out that, taken in the context of the current event around the time he posted it, it was a satirical response to a petition that urged the release of Polanski from prisoners in Switzerland. That he, in fact, taunted the defenders of Polanski. After news of the termination broke out, Cernovich released a Twitter video to celebrate his victory.

At that time, Seder noted that the advertiser on The Majority Report with Sam Seder also was being contacted and pressed by Cernovich and his team to break the tie with the event via tweet. In response, Seder launches the GoFundMe campaign to ensure the event is funded if the advertiser decides to provide a guarantee. In an episode of the podcast titled "I'm Under Attack by Nazi Alt-Right", Seder said, "This smear involves a deliberate misunderstanding of the tweets I post in 2009" and that he would "never be ashamed of criticizing those who would forgive female or female predation. "Seder also revealed plans to use some of GoFundMe's results to produce a three-minute video educating people about Cernovich's tactics. He suspects this is retaliation because he often criticized US President Donald Trump and the Republican Senate candidate Alabama, Roy Moore. Furthermore, Seder berated MSNBC's decision to end its work by concluding, "I think they are afraid of those people."

The news of Seder's dismissal soon got a reply. More than 12,000 people signed a petition protesting against Seder's dismissal, arguing that Cernovich had acted evil and deliberately misjudged the tweets. Some MSNBC news publications. MSNBC's main anchor, Chris Hayes, tweeted, "Our entire culture and politics are now dominated by people who have rekindled bad faith and disorder." Hayes tweeted several times against the decision by his own network, including: "Also, I reiterate my old position that people should not be fired because tweets, * especially * are clearly read very badly." Actress Sarah Silverman also tweeted to support Seder.

There are many disagreements in MSNBC during termination. Employees are worried about firing Seder gives incentives to other rightwingers to launch similar campaigns. MSNBC's own management is fretted by the right-wing celebration reaction. On December 7, 2017, MSNBC decided to reverse their decision to end Seder's work. MSNBC President Phil Griffin said in a statement, "Sometimes you just go wrong, and that's what's happening here." We made our initial decision for the right reasons - because we did not think of rape as a fun topic to joke about "But we have heard feedback, and we understood the intent that Sam wanted to make in the tweet was actually in line with our values, even though the language was not. Sam will be welcomed in front of us. "In response, Seder issued a statement on receiving his job back:

I appreciate the reconsideration and desire of MSNBC to understand the cynical motives of those who deliberately misinterpreted my tweets for their own toxic purpose [...] We experienced an important and long delayed empowerment moment for victims of sexual violence and from theirab for their perpetrators. I am proud that MSNBC and its staff have provided a clear example of the need to do it right.

The Columbia Journalism Review cited the incident as an example of a wider pattern of right-wing media figures using an online campaign to keep mainstream journalists fired. Cernovich, for his part, admits that "some say Seder makes a joke or is being sarcastic." However, he still insists he does not misinterpret the tweet. He then admitted that the whole incident was a temporary act claiming victory explains, retroactively, it was meant to bring attention to what he regarded as a double standard and a lack of "diversity of views" in the media. He also tweeted that he was "thrilled" MSNBC offers Seder his job back while threatening to "bring Sam Seder's Tweet out every time the media goes after others to Tweet." On December 9, 2017, after failing to get Seder fired, Cernovich claimed that his wife was being followed by media order.
