John Marshall Law School Atlanta ( AJMLS ) was founded in 1933 and is accredited by the American Bar Association. AJMLS was named for John Marshall, Supreme Court Justice of the United States. AJMLS is located in downtown Atlanta, Georgia.
AJMLS offers five courses J.D.: full-time, part-time, part-time, acceleration/spring, and a full-time Honor Program in Criminal Justice (led by MacArthur Genius Fellow, Jonathan Rapping). Three LL.M. (Master of Laws) courses offered: Employment Law (online), LL.M. for Legal Practice in the United States (Resident), and LL.M. in American Law Studies (Online).
In late 2011, AJMLS opened a twin school in Savannah, Georgia, named Savannah Law School. In March 2018, press reports stated that Savannah Law School will close at the end of the spring 2018 term.

Histori
AJMLS was founded in 1933 in Atlanta. At the end of 2011, AJMLS opened the law school of Savannah School in Savannah, Georgia.
In 2017, AJMLS received attention when a student was exposed as a white nationalist organizer who sent a death threat to a Black activist in Atlanta. Later that year, the school's accrediter, the American Bar Association (ABA), put the school on probation about the rules of acceptance of the ABA; in April 2018, the AJMLS website stated that the school is fully accredited to ABA.
In March 2018, press reports claimed that Savannah Law School would close at the end of the spring 2018 semester. Class Lawsuit action of Savannah Law School students claimed that the Savannah school was being closed to enrich non-profit owner Michael Markovitz.

Experimental learning
The experience learning program at AJMLS combines classroom theory with hands-on experience by offering students direct exposure to legal practice. The credit-to-credit program consists of legal clinics, intensive exchangships and other approved field placements.
Some placements involving litigation and eligible students may apply for a Third Year Certificate of Practice under the Georgia Third Year Practice Act.
Approved field placements fall under several categories including Bankruptcy Law, Business Law, Civil Rights Law, Court Administration, Criminal Law Award, Environmental Law, Family Law, Federal Agents, Health Law, Immigration Law, Court Officers, Child Law, Employment Law, Legal Mediation, City Agent, Foreign Placement, Pro Bono Organization, Prosecutor, Public Defender, Real Estate Law, Sports Law, State Institution and Tax Law. At AJMLS Fulton County Family Law Externship Clinic, attendees help fight in the Fulton County High Court with matters relating to family law. At AJMLS Immigration Law Clinic (AILC), students provide assistance to immigration clients at the Catholic Charities of the Atlanta Immigration Law Clinic. Externship The Law of Experiential Tax provides practical tax law experience in small enterprise settings.
Student organization
Students attending AJMLS can take part in many independent student organizations. These groups include interests such as cultural diversity, academia, recreation, and professional and networking opportunities.
